This morning was a LSR day for Team Tiara - 8 miles, so really nothing too extreme. I missed my long run last week due to the LASIK and missed Tuesday morning because of laziness. I was pumped up about today and ready to tackle those 8 miles. So yesterday, our fearless (and great!) leader Kendra sent out our route. The route was named "Just for Gerri" so I knew that couldn't be good. Yep, it was full of hills. DANGGIT!
I wish I were one of those people that eat hills for breakfast, but I don't even have them for snacks. But I dug in and did my best. I think I had 4 short walk breaks over the 8 mile course. My time was certainly much slower than it has been, but understandable with the walk breaks and hills. Spinx is 2 months away and I know that I'm going to continue getting stronger over that time. And, to get stronger, you have to do hills. My brain realizes this, my body just doesn't yet. But it will...
