Today started off with the usual craziness of orientation. People showing up unexpectedly, people not showing up when expected, and the usual uncooperation between staff members. It all makes for a frustrating morning. Is it time to go to law school yet? I wish!! But, after orientation and lunch, things slowed way down and gave me some time to get some other things (on a more personal note) done. Important things, like ordering transcripts and reading through study notes. I ended up staying at work past 5 and heading to Port City Java to get some iced coffee and study before a 6:30 meeting. Compounding my crazy day, the Port City near my office has closed down. How can a business close and yet leave it's tables and chairs outside to decieve the public and look like it's open? Oh well, there was another one on the way to the meeting, so I got an Iced Mocha (made with 1/2 decaf, no sense staying up all night!) and settled in to complete one LSAT section. On to my 6:30 meeting...
Team Tiara is the fundraising portion of Girls on the Run and the goal is to raise money while training for a full or half marathon. Our local chapter is training for the Spinx RunFest on October 25. I will do the half marathon, because training will be during football season, and let's face it - we all know where my priorities lie from the end of August through November. The minimum goal is to raise $262. There were 4 ladies at the meeting and we all agreed to 3 runs during the week and a long run on the weekend. While trying to coordinate the best time to plan the weekday runs, it was agreed upon to do them early morning, like 5:45 or 6:00. WHAT???!!!! I actually agreed to this on my own accord without anyone holding a gun to my head? Yep, I sure did. Knowing that there will be other people waiting on me in the park will make me drag my lazy tail out of bed on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays and get my runs in. This is one of the main reasons I wanted to do this training - the accountability and companionship during the training process. This begins on July 7, so until then, I can at least sleep in a little bit.
After the meeting, I came home and settled in with my LSAT test. I completed the next 3 sections, untimed. My test score came to a 160. Whoo hooo! After 157, 158 and 159 over the weekend, I'll take a 160! My ultimate goal is a 163 for the actual test in *GULP* two weeks. So, now it is 11:00 pm and I just realized that I never ate dinner. I guess my mocha freeze will have to suffice. I'm off to bed to dream of analytical reasoning, logic games and visions of reading comprehension all through my head. After all, tomorrow is another day and another practice test, this one will be timed.
